Suede - Beautiful ones

不像Radiohead总是与潮流同步，商业气息比较浓。Suede一直保持着自己另类的色彩。Suede 在成军之初，无论是报章杂志、同乡同胞、经纪人还是唱片公司都对他们没什么好印象。他们觉得 Suede 的表演乏善可陈，亳无魅力可言，风格走向也极端的无聊。他们的公开演出，票房更是惨不忍睹，并非他们的表演欠缺水准，而是观众的反应并不捧场。他们的音乐不被了解，即使是在发了一张风格奇特的单曲《Be My God / Art》之后，也只是引起短暂的好感罢了，也许这就是他们不受注意的理由。任何一个优秀的乐队的走红都需要一个契机，Suede的契机在1992年来临了。这一年，全球流行音乐界突然刮起了一股另类风潮，众多另类乐队登上舞台，Suede当然不会错过这个机会。Suede的现场表演引起广泛的回响，这一年的5月他们登上了《Melody Maker》志的封面，并被该杂志评为“大不列颠最棒的新进团体”。在紧接着的几年内，他们不断的推出新专辑并且一张比一张出色。于是他们在另类摇滚的地位已经不容动摇。虽然Suede的原班人马如今已经分崩离析，并且乐队因为一系列的不良事件（跟专属会计师对簿公堂、整张专辑被废弃从头编写等等）的影响，但是Suede的旗帜仍旧没有倒，他们在2002年推出专辑《A New Morning》后，标志着他们会重拾Suede昔日吉他流行曲基本步而舍弃电气化实验风格。
我们今天要欣赏的歌曲《Beautiful ones》收录在他们1994年的专辑《Dog Man Star》中。虽然并不是Suede的巅峰之作，但是个人觉得这首歌是当时Suede的代表作之一，另类的唱法和乖张的表演让人印象深刻。并且也是在这张专辑以后Suede的原班人马逐渐开始解体，在这首歌中我们还能看到他们中拿个非常酷的键盘手Neil Codling和张狂的吉他手Bernard Butler。
