似乎美国人和英国人在音乐上总是格格不入互相对峙，当美国人把猫王捧上云端的时候，英国人也迎来了他们的王者，但是这个王不是一个人而是4个风格迥异的音乐天才——Beatles。
毫无疑问，Beatles是流行音乐界历史上最伟大，最有影响力，拥有最多歌迷，最为成功的乐队。它对于流行音乐的革命性的发展与影响力无人可出其右，对于世界范围内摇滚乐的发展做出了非常巨大的贡献，影响了自60年代以后的数代摇滚乐队的音乐和思想，直接影响了摇滚乐的变革和发展，在英国，披头士乐队更是影响了 60年代至今几乎每一支乐队的形成和发展。而乐队中四名伟大的音乐家（John Lennon、Paul McCartney、George Harrison和Ringo Starr），特别是John Lennon和Paul McCartney，对于世界各个角落的后辈摇滚歌手及音乐创作者们的影响持续至今。
从《Love me do》到《Let it be》，从1960年成军到1970年分崩离析，Beatles在10年里作为一个音乐文化的革命者，他们不仅拥有世界上最高，而且令后人难以企及的唱片销售纪录，而且他们的文化影响力也早已超过了其艺术的本身。Beatles在这几十年的时间里，早已成为了流行音乐和流行文化的标志，同时也成为了英国文化和英国历史的一个商标，他们中的成员也有被英国女王加封晋爵。Beatles引领了六、七十年代世界各个国家的流行文化方向，成为时尚流行的风向标，关于Beatles的任何东西全部都成为了最具文化内涵的商品，而Beatles曾经使用过的任何东西都可以被以惊人的天价来拍卖。Beatles除了不计其数的登上各种杂志的封面以外，还经常登上世界多个国家的邮票和明信片等纪念品，他们拥有不计其数的相关主题博物馆和纪录片，电影等相关文化资料储存组织。除此以外，在世界上至今仍拥有大量的Beatles成员的职业模仿者，以及专业组织和评判模仿大赛的机构和组织。Beatles以及Beatles文化早已成为人类在20世纪文化领域的一个重要组成部分而被永远铭刻，他们作为上个世纪流行文化的商标，从未受到任何的挑战。
回溯披头士乐队的形成、发展以及他们数不胜数的光辉成就是一件非常困难的事情，而且也许正在品读陋作的各位才人们比我更加清楚，更加有发言权。索性不再详述他们的辉煌，既然咱们以听歌为主，就还是着重来品品这首我个人奉为经典的《Hey Jude》。
《Hey Jude》是Paul McCartney为John Lennon的儿子Julian而创作的。John Lennon为了Yoko Ono抛妻弃子。1969年John Lennon开始和Yoko Ono同居了，他与前妻Cynthia的婚姻也到了崩溃的边缘。Paul一直非常喜爱John Lennon的儿子Julian，他担心大人之间的婚姻变故会对一个小孩子带来心理上的阴影。他曾说：“我总是为父母离异的孩子感到难过。大人们也许没什么，但是孩子……”Paul在车里为Julian写下了这首《Hey Jude》，可当时的Julian并不知道。直到二十年后，Julian才明白这首歌是写给自己的。他一直很喜爱爸爸的这个朋友，像一个叔叔一样的Paul。其实Paul当时也正和妻子Jane Asher离了婚，开始与Linda Eastman的感情。所以也许他的歌还是写给自己的吧。据说与Paul一向面和心不和的John Lennon也非常喜欢这首歌。他曾说：自从第一次听到，他就觉得，噢，这首歌是写给我的！Paul 说“Hey, John!，去吧，离开我们和Yoko在一起吧”。他似乎又在说“Hey, John!不要离开！”因为John的儿子叫Julian，所以这首歌的原名是《Hey Julian》，后来改为《Hey Jules》，最终变成《Hey Jude》，因为Jude这个名字比前两者都要响亮。
其实不管是写给孩子还是写给自己，亦或者写给John，这首歌的确在字里行间散发着一种劝人积极向上的意义。简单的钢琴敲击的音符直接穿透听者的耳鼓直击灵魂最深处，似乎在将你那些不愉快的记忆一一唤起，然后再一一摸去。学会坚强，也许就是这首歌的真谛。
其实在那个年代的配器都是很简单的，但是往往就是这种简单成就了一个个不灭的经典，《Hey Jude》中，从乐器的选择到和声的唱词，都很平常，和现在的摇滚乐队动辄合成器、风格剑走偏锋诡异莫名比起来要平淡许多，但是细细品来，就是这种平淡才能衬托出这首歌的内涵。Paul的钢琴、John和George的吉他、Ringo的有节奏的鼓点，还有他们四人配合无比默契的和声，给整首歌添加了摄人魂魄的力量。个人认为我选择的这首最后有百人合唱的MV更是将这首歌演绎到了极致。
据说，Beatles因为不和，他们的最后一张专辑《Abbey Road》大部分都是每个人分开录制的，但是却超越了前面所有的专辑，在乐队配合的整体感上达到了几乎完美的地步。这在我们看来几乎是难以想象的，看来Beatles的光辉印证了那句话“他们为音乐而来，亦随音乐而去……”
